Process Aids including Anchorlube and Factice aids to facilitate the dispersion of fillers within rubber compounds and ensure smooth processing. They reduce energy consumption, as well as improving extrusion properties and surface appearance of moulded articles. Factice is used as a non-thermoplastic processing aid in natural and synthetic rubbers. Factice controls the shrinkage or “nerve” of rubber mixes thus improving dimensional stability during handling, storage and open vulcanisation. It improves filler dispersion, reduces mixing energy requirements and has the capacity to absorb large quantities of liquid plasticisers so facilitating their incorporation into soft compounds.
